Happy
New Year, indeed!
Well, the New
Year is definitely kicking off with a bang!
I came down with strep throat this weekend
and am, quite honestly, miserable. I would
appreciate your prayers and patience as
I rest and recover. I had forgotten just
how painful strep throat is! I pray you
and your families are all well!
Blessings
in Christ,
Jill

Business
Builders From Fellow CWAHMS
*
People who are just starting out in their
businesses are always looking for ways to
advertise FREE. Some of the best ways I've
found to do this are by: Using you Word
Processing software to create nice letterhead
and business cards, and be sure to include
your business cards and/or brochures with
any bills or other correspondence you send
out in the mail. Place your brochures or
flyers on bulletin boards at Churches, Schools,
Libraries, Grocery Stores Etc. Make sure
that all your e-mail correspondence has
your signature attached which includes(Your
Business Name, Website Address & other
Contact Information). Offer free items "with
a purchase" (If you can't afford to
give away free merchandise, just allow the
"free item" with limited merchandise
and be sure to add the cost of the free
item into the price of the other merchandise.
For example: If you sell a candle that's
valued at 5.99 raise the price of that candle
to 10.99 and give one away "FREE")
of course this is not recommended practice
for every business owner, but, has been
effective for some. Be sure to include your
marketing information with the order, this
will definately draw & maintain customers,
because we all love free things.
For free advertising, do
a internet search on the term "free
ads" and find all sites that allow
you to post free advertisement. If you post
in any chat rooms,
make sure your signature includes your website
address (if the forum allows).
These are very effective
methods, and should give you increased growth
in the year 2007. I wish you Peace, Prosperity,
and Favor (The favor of the Lord).

Healthy Business Habits |
“Do not be wise
in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart
from evil. It will be health to your flesh,
and strength to your bones (Proverbs 3:
7-8)”
How often do you heed the
voice of God? When do you heed His voice?
When we seek answers to
our problems, we often look to ourselves
and other humans to help us figure it all
out. We will read books and article in search
of the wisdom we seek for the answer we
need. These habits often lead us to the
wrong decisions and some very bad choices.
Why?
We are being wise in our
own eyes and residing right in the midst
of evil. Now, I am not saying that you are
evil. But when we make choices and decisions
outside of the will of God we are in the
midst of the world, which is filled with
evil.
What we need to do is develop
some healthy habits. Habits that will lead
us towards seeking godly wisdom.
The first habit we need
to develop is the habit of prayer. Take
it all to Him in prayer. Do you know that
when I cook I pray and ask the Holy Spirit
to help me create an awesome meal? You may
laugh, but it works. God is interested in
all that you do. That does not mean only
the big things, but the small things as
well.
The second habit we need
to develop is to seek His Word daily. God’s
Word has the answer to all we seek and need.
Yes, it is fine to read books and articles.
God gave some of us the talent of writing
to heal, deliver, and set free. Just make
sure that in all your getting, the understanding
that you are getting is founded upon the
Word and the Word alone.
I have had the book “The
Purpose Driven Life” for over a year
now. Guess what? I never read is. Why? It
was not time. My head and heart was not
ready for it because I was not in a place
to receive what God had for me in that book.
Another habit that we should
develop is seeking wise counsel. Pay attention
to who you are talking with and who you
tell your business to. Not every one who
smiles in your face means you well. I have
been blessed to watch God place mentors
in my life. I have also been cursed by some
of my affiliations. Make sure your counsel
is from above. You can only be sure by applying
the first two habits.
One last habit we should
develop is a deep desire to serve God first
and foremost in all we do. As business owners
we are bombarded by what the world has to
offer. We need to seek first the kingdom
of God and all His righteousness. The only
way that we will receive blessings that
we won’t have room for, is by seeking
God first.
If you want to be spiritually
healthy in business you must develop healthy
habits. As you develop these habits you
will notice that your business and your
life will be blessed. Your focus will be
more on the things of God rather than the
cares of the world.
“But seek first
the kingdom of God and His righteousness
and all these things shall be added unto
you (Matthew 6:33)”

Recipe Mexican Cornbread |
Growing up in NE Texas and
living in Louisiana in my formative years,
red beans and rice were a big staple of
our diet. My mom used to put large sausage
links or pork peices in the beans to make
the meat stretch further. But there were
also several of the meals that it was just
the beans!
Ingredients:
9 x 12 baking dish
Non stick spray
2 cups yellow cornmeal
¼ cup shortening, melted
2 cans Mexi-Corn, drained
8 0z sour cream
8 oz buttermilk
1 lb shredded cheddar and Monterrey jack
cheese
Canned Jalapeno Slices
Directions:
Grease the pan.
In a bowl, mix together the cornmeal, shortening,
corn, sour cream, and buttermilk.
Spread ½ of the mixture in the baking
dish.
Top with the cheeses.
Add the jalapenos (as many as you like).
Spread rest of the mixture over the jalapenos.
Bake at 350 for about 1 hour, until golden
brown.

Assembling this valentine
requires a little bit of tricky balancing,
but once you catch on, these sweet crafts
will be flying from your fingertips.

MATERIALS:
Thin rubber band
Peppermint Life Savers
Smarties
Cinnamon gum
Heart-shaped stickers
Time needed:
Under 1 Hour
1. Thread the rubber band
through the holes of two Life Savers, then
balance the roll of Smarties between them,
across the rubber band.
2. For wings, balance the
stick of gum on top, perpendicular to the
Smarties, and pull the rubber band up and
over each side of the gum to hold it all
in place.
3. Decorate the wings with
tiny heart-shaped stickers or a message.
Tips:
If smaller fingers are having trouble with
all that balancing and stretching, have
one person hold the candy in place while
another works the rubber band up and over
the gum.
