Journal. Make

a great habit and you'll learn alot by looking

A
Note From Jill |
| I
had such a great time at the Mt
Hermon Writer's Conference. I met so
many amazing people and I learned SO much!
My friend Sharon Hinck was the Mt Hermon
writer of the year! Yay, Sharon!! :)
(Note:
Sharon's newest book, The Restorer, comes
out in May. I got a sneak peek at the book
and it is FABULOUS! Read
my review to learn more.)
If you ever
have the opportunity to attend Mt
Hermon, do so! I made some great friends
and we even made it to the beach. :)

Business
Builders
From Fellow CWAHMS |
*
My Home Business actually started booming
when I started using the internet and leads.
There are many different leads sources out
there to purchase from. You really need
to investigate them before purchasing. You
want to make sure they are Legitimate Lead
Companies. Don't be afraid to ask them for
their feedback comments. Also, be checking
to see what their return policy is. When
purchasing leads, some companies do have
a return policy for leads with bad numbers,
hangup, people under the age of 18, disconnected
numbers, etc.
Remember, to stay within your budget. Having
a Home Business does not mean you have to
spend every cent you make on your home business.
I purchase from several different companies
but have one in particular that I actually
earn free leads from. Some lead companies
have what is a called an affiliate site.
When you join that affiliate site, you are
referring people to that site and with each
purchase you earn free leads. Its a great
tool to use. I earn free leads every month
but I still purchase so many within my budget.
Happy Business Building! Have a Great Month!

Article
Live
Your Passion
by Terri Pilcher |
“I believe that every
woman holds within her the power to change
the world in some way, and it’s her
responsibility to figure out what that is,”
said Mary Cantando, of www.WomanBusinessOwner.com.
She specializes in helping women owners
of multi-million dollar companies advertise
their services to Fortune 500 companies.
Do you know that you can
change the world? That’s why God put
you here. He has a plan for each of us that
enables us to take small steps toward a
bigger plan. In the Bible, Paul talks about
running a race. A race has a course for
the runners. God gives each of us our own
course to run. We see the markers and forks
as we get there, and we must choose whether
to take the path that leads to successful
use of our talents or whether we take the
path of fear and avoid the race completely.
Even the smallest successful
use of our talents changes the world. “It’s
like you throw a stone out on the lake of
eternity and the ripples just go on and
on and on. I believe every time I speak
or write or have an interaction in the grocery
store, everything I do is about throwing
positive stones into the lake of eternity
and the impact that makes on people that
I will never even know,” explains
Mary.
“I believe that if
I can help a woman grow her business, she
can add one employee, then that’s
not just one person, but that’s a
family, that’s a community. When I
stand up to speak to a room full of women,
I look across this sea of faces, and I think,
‘I need one woman here today to hear
one thing I’ve said, take it seriously,
and go back and make one change in her business
that will allow her to hire one more employee.
That will impact that one family and that
one community. My mission in life is to
touch people who I may never eve know and
make a difference in their lives,”
she says.
What are you passionate
about? There’s at least one God-given
passion, one God-given desire in each of
our hearts. He wants us to live passionately.
“Wow, if everyone in the world got
that, imagine the state we’d be in.
Just imagine if everybody was passionate
about what they were doing, if everyone
got up every morning to do something they
really wanted to do, and if every one of
those people was making a positive impact
on the world, how cool would that be?”
exclaims Mary.
God intends that you too
should have this kind of impact. “Why
were you put on this earth? Live into that
to make it happen,” says Mary.
It’s living passionately
and with enthusiasm that makes successful
Christians. Whether or not it will make
you a millionaire is God’s decision,
but whether or not you live your purpose
passionately is your decision. When you
live passionately, you wake up excited for
the day and go to bed at night feeling satisfied
with your accomplishments.
Lois Carrier, a financial
advisor, explained, “I feel like I
can sleep at night and say, ‘Thank
you, God. I have taken what you’ve
given me, and I’ve helped your other
children with it.’ It’s not
pride. It’s just that I know that
I have done well in God’s eyes.”
She added, “I think that a lot of
people wonder about that part of their lives.”
What is your passion? Go
out and start living it. It’s the
first step toward success.

Wrapper for leftovers, craft
material, alien mind-reading shield. Here,
aluminum foil is a vehicle for paint, leaving
eggs with spots and blotches of color.

MATERIALS:
Eggs
Aluminum foil
Acrylic paint
Time needed:
Under 1 Hour
1.
First, crumple and uncrumple a large square
of aluminum foil, then coat the foil with
acrylic paint
2. Set the egg in the center
of the foil and loosely wrap it. Gently
press the foil against the egg, then remove
the egg and let it dry. Repeat with other
colors, if you like.
Tips:
To get the fun under way, first boil your
eggs for 15 minutes and then let them cool
completely. Protect your work area with
newspaper and set out the supplies needed
for each technique.
Note:
If you plan to eat your Easter eggs, decorate
them only with food-grade dyes. Click

Passover egg safety.

Book
I
LOVE to read! Each week you'll find
a new Christian book here! |

FEATURED
AUTHOR: Sharon Dunn
I first met Sharon Dunn
about four years ago at a writers’
retreat. Sharon is the author of the award
winning Ruby Taylor mysteries. Her books
can be summed up as: A little mystery, a
little romance, a whole lotta fun. The first
book, Romance Rustlers and Thunderbird Thieves
was a finalist in the Inspirational Novel
of the Year and book two, Sassy Cinderella
and the Valiant Vigilante, won the Book
of the Year award from American Christian
Fiction Writers. Her newest release Death
of a Garage Sale Newbie is the first in
the Bargain Hunters mysteries. Sharon lives
in Montana with her husband of 20 years,
three children, three cats. When she isn't
writing, she is taking kids to activities,
making pets out of the dust bunnies under
her furniture, and working part time at
a college.
Nikki: When did you first
feel "called" to write and how
did that evolve into the writing life?
Sharon: I can't honestly
say that I ever felt called. I have always
written to express myself. After my kids
were born, writing became a creative outlet,
the thing I did to keep growing as person.
I never thought I would write a novel. I
just kind of picked away at my first book
which became Romance Rustlers and Thunderbird
Thieves and eventually I had a completed
book that I felt like I could show an editor.
Nikki: How has writing
deepened your spiritual journey?
Sharon: If I never publish
another book or article, writing would have
been worth it for the spiritual growth that
I have experienced. Writing is such an up
and down business emotionally. Early on,
I realized that I was still getting my value
from what I did as opposed to how much Christ
loved me. I also realized that if I didn't
change, I wouldn't survive in this business.
My identity comes from being loved by the
Savior of the universe, not from my success
or failure as a writer.
Nikki: Tell us something
most people don't know about you and would
be surprised to learn.
Sharon: I looked pretty
pulled together when I leave the house for
work or a speaking engagement, so I suppose
I give people the impression that my house
is pulled together too. The truth is I am
the worst the housekeeper ever and organizationally
challenged. Once, I bought one of those
shoe trees in an effort to "get organized."
I just kept tossing the shoes in the general
direction of the shoe tree.
Nikki: You write comedy.
What is it about your writing style that
readers tell you draws them to your books?
Sharon: I hear two things
from readers. First that they laughed when
they read my books, but also that they appreciate
the honesty of my character's Christian
walk. My characters are far from perfect
and their spiritual journeys often mirror
my own. I write what I like to read. I sure
haven't always made right choices and sometimes
my walk becomes a crawl. I am so glad I
serve a God of infinite patience.
Nikki: Tell us one of the
high points of your career and what it meant
to you?
Sharon: Winning the Book
of Year from ACFW was a nice surprise. I
had forgotten that I entered Sassy Cinderella
and I didn't go to the conference where
it was announced. I was on the way out the
door for my daughter's bowling birthday
party, when the phone rang and a writer
friend of mine who was at the conference
said, "Guess what I am holding in my
hand?" So much fun. Two celebrations
in one day.
Nikki: If people want to
follow your writing journey, where are you
on the Internet?
Sharon: I have a website
www.sharondunnbooks.com,
I am a regular blogger on www.faithchick.com.
