When most people think of Ebay, they think
of other people selling junk from their
attic or basement. While this is true for
some, Ebay is really a HUGE internet traffic
machine that can bring you targeted leads
to your business.
Here are some ways to build
your business with Ebay:
* Write a report talking
about something your business does (like
the top 10 scrapbook tools if you sell scrapbook
supplies) and sell it on Ebay for about
$1. Then invite your buyers to join your
mailing list.
* If you can, sell your products on Ebay
and invite buyers to join your mailing list.
* Create an About Me page on Ebay (it's
free) and link to your website or newsletter
sign up page.
* Run a Classified Ad (for only $10 a month!!)
and include a link directly to your website,
but don't sell on it...only refer people
to your site for more information.
You see, there are many
different ways to use this "traffic
geyser" called Ebay to build a business!

I don't always introduce
myself by saying, "Hi, I'm Viola. I'm
a travel agent," but I often hear people
say, "I didn't know you were a travel
agent! I could have really used you last
time I tried to book a vacation!" One
way I get people to ask me about what I
do is wear a charm bracelet with a car,
train, plane, and ship. Ladies love to comment
on jewelry! That gives me the opportunity
to mention that I'm a travel agent and I
don't come off sounding pushy. This could
work for a number of professions as there
are charms for everything these days!

How to Find Your Dream Business
By Terri Pilcher |
Ever thought of stuffing
envelopes from home to make money? I hope
not. We’ve all seen those scam ads
in our local Bargaineer or Pennysaver. With
all of the pyramid schemes, party programs,
and network marketers out there, how can
a mom find a way to earn a little extra
money without losing thousands of dollars?
“Multilevel marketing
is not for everyone,” says Catherine
Eagen, a former banker who now helps Christians
become millionaires by increasing their
financial IQ. Some people do really well
at it. “People that have a pentiant
for sales probably would be good at that.
People that don’t probably won’t,”
she says.
Many people enjoy party
sales and network marketing, but if it’s
not you, don’t stress. You can find
something you enjoy that enables you to
make money at home.
“First of all, find
out what you’re good at,” says
Catherine. “Some women were in the
corporate world or in the business world
or the non-profit world prior to becoming
a mom. They had gifts, talents and abilities.
They need to ask themselves how they can
parlay those into an economic opportunity
for themselves.”
“I have a friend
who decided to be a stay-at-home mom and
she decided to write a magazine, an e-zine.
She writes articles, has great contributing
authors, and interviews people that are
notables in the community and around the
nation.” Catherine says.
It doesn’t always
take great skill to start a successful business.
The ability to solve other people’s
problems is enough to make money. Catherine
and her husband know a lady who was walking
down a road in the south. “They passed
by a field and the mom looked over and said,
‘Oh, those are some beautiful flowers.’
It was fall and there were some dried flowers.
She said, ‘I wonder if we can pick
some of those.’ She knocked on the
door of the homeowner, and the homeowner
said, ‘I’d love for you to get
rid of those. They are weeds in my site
and I hate them.’ She began to go
out and cut them down, and she made bouquets.
She sold those bouquets to the neighborhood
Walgreen and they began to show up in different
Walgreen stores. One thing that looked like
a problem for one person became a solution
for another individual.”
“One of the questions
that I always suggest that people ask themselves
is, ‘What problem do you believe you
were created to solve?’ When you answer
that question, it’s a good indicator
of what you should or could be doing. Then
the question is how to do it from home,”
Catherine says.
It may mean telecommuting
or becoming an entrepreneur. If you love
organizing or being an office manager, approach
small businesses and local entrepreneurs
about performing some of their office tasks
or doing their bookkeeping from your home.
“There are many things
that the stay-at-home mom can pursue either
on her own as an entrepreneur, within the
context of a group of others, within a corporation,
or within a non-profit organization. These
jobs will give her credit for her work,
and if she then turns around and joins the
corporate world or becomes an entrepreneur,
she can now bring work experience.
Says Catherine, “The
Stay-at-home mom needs to look in earnest
and what she likes to do and then do it.”

Spoon-feed your winged neighbors
with this homemade birdseed dispenser.

MATERIALS:
Clean 1-liter soda bottle
Craft knife
2 wooden spoons
small eye screw
Length of twine for hanging
Time needed:
Under 1 Hour
1. Start by drawing a 1/2-inch
asterisk on the side of a clean 1-liter
soda bottle, about 4 inches from the bottom.
Rotate the bottle 90 degrees and draw another
asterisk 2 inches from the bottom. Draw
a 1-inch-wide circle opposite each asterisk,
as shown.
2. Use a craft knife to
slit the asterisk lines and cut out the
circles (a parent's job). Insert a wooden
spoon handle first through each hole and
then through the opposite asterisk, as shown.
3. Remove the bottle cap
and twist a small eye screw into the top
of it for hanging.
4. Finally, fill your feeder
with birdseed, recap it, and use a length
of twine to hang it from a tree.

Book
I
LOVE to read! Each week you'll find
a new Christian book here! |

Who
Stole My Joy?
by Sandra
Steen
In Who
Stole My Joy?, Sandra Steen uses a
unique approach to teach others how to capture
joy in their lives. Steen personifies “Joy”
and follows his journey as he meets either
friend or enemy in each chapter. Each quality
is also personified as well as Steen shows
its effect on “Joy.” There are
over 40 characteristics covered throughout
the book including selfishness, insecurity,
positive attitude, and hope.
Steen closes by helping
the reader to identify “who”
stole their joy. She then gives steps to
help them regain what has been lost. She
explains “joy protectors” and
encourages readers with daily affirmations
that they can use to start themselves on
the path back to a joy-filled life.
Sandra Steen is one of the
world’s most respected speakers and
authors. Steen has won many awards for outstanding
contributions in corporate America, including:
Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, Women of Enterprise
Award, Texas Woman to Watch, International
Firm of the Year, and the African American
Business Professional Service Award.
More than 500,000 people,
including employees from companies such
as AT&T and Sony, have profited from
her workshops. Her seminars are designed
to help the listener develop both personal
and business success. The book also includes
a free CD, “Discovering Joy,”
to give the reader a small taste of one
of Steen’s live workshops.
