15
Minutes For Mom
Short on time
and wondering what to do for dinner? Here
are 3 tips that will help get you in and out
of the kitchen quickly. I'll share more tips
next week!
1. Plan your
meals around your appliances such as the
crockpot, microwave, or breadmaker.
2. Plan one night of the week as a you are
on your own night, meaning that everyone in
the family can decide for themselves what
they would like to eat and then can heat up
leftovers, etc on their own (age
permitting).
3. Think simple! Fancy or elaborate meals
can be saved for special occasions!
Visit the Articles
section on CWAHM.com for great time-savings
tips and back-to-school ideas!

Moving
On...
We moved
this past weekend. All I can say is that
while I love our new house, I'm completely
exhausted. I pray that I won't have to move
again for many, many years. :) Thank you
all for your prayers, encouragement and
patience during this time.

Always consider that everyone who crosses
your path each day could be a potential
customer! For example, most everyone likes
to travel! In the course of casual
conversation, look for ways to bring up your
business. Keep a little memo book for the
name and contact information for the people
you give cards or information out to, and
remember to invite them again later if you
have a party or an open house. A note about
where you met them is also helpful.

Article
Candid Candace
by
Candace
Cameron Bure |
Q: My husband and I have been married for four
years. He has never been a Christian, but I have--even though I have backslid
several times. We go to church and I am very happy about that, but I was
wondering, could you give me some pointers on how to get him more interested in
Christ?
A: So you want to know how to get him more interested in Christ?
Well, I'll start by saying that when our interest in Christ is something so
special and different, over time others might be drawn to it. What I mean is,
that when a Christian is walking with the Lord there is usually something
special about them, and if an unbeliever sees this difference in us, they may
want to know what it is!
You said you've backslid several times. Most of us have, unless we came to Jesus
for the right reason in the first place. Sadly, many churches entice us with
the, "Jesus has a wonderful plan for your life..." spiel, until the going gets
rough, and we wonder why we ever came to Jesus in the first place.
I was a backslider too; it wasn't until I read The Way of the Master by Ray
Comfort, that the gospel message hit me between the eyes. I'd then understood
for the first time, my serious NEED for Jesus.
It's hard to attract someone to something if the person trying to attract isn't
that excited about it in the first place. Did that sound confusing, or what?
What I'm trying to say is, work on your relationship with the Lord first.
Concentrate on being a godly wife. Make Christ-like changes in your own life
that would make your husband wonder why he's the luckiest man in the world to
have such a wonderful wife. What made her change? Why is she so different? It's
then that you can gently tell him, "It's Christ living in me."
Actions speak louder than words. Let your actions lead him to Christ. I always
suggest joining a small group Bible study with other women. It's the best way to
get into the Word and start understanding it.
I hope this has helped.

This costume is lightweight and easy to get
on and off.
MATERIALS:
Measuring tape
1-inch-thick white foam (see instructions
for measurements; available at fabric shops)
Marker
Electric knife or scissors
Large clear plastic bowl with lip (ours was
12 inches in diameter; available at party
stores)
Yellow acrylic paint and brush
1 yard of 1 1/2-inch-wide grosgrain ribbon
Heavy-duty adhesive-backed Velcro
Time needed: Afternoon or
Evening
1. To find the right length for the egg
white, measure from your child's chin to the
floor and subtract 8 inches. The egg's width
should be about 24 inches. On the foam, draw
a free-form egg white with the marker, then
cut along it with an electric knife or
scissors.
2. Trace the bowl on the
back of the foam, then cut a hole 2 inches
inside this line. Paint the inside of the
bowl yellow (this may take several coats).
Once it's dry, insert it into the hole.
3. To make the strap,
have your child hold the egg to her chest,
then apply Velcro strips to the foam and the
ribbon at the appropriate spots. Trim any
excess ribbon.

Book
I
LOVE to read! Each week you'll find
a new Christian book here! |

Split Ends
by Kristin Billerbeck
Sarah Claire
Winowski is a small-town hairdresser with
big dreams. She joins her successful cousin
in California to carve out a new life for
herself. Los Angeles, however, may be more
than Sarah Claire bargained for.
After being told to change her name, her
clothes and the way she talks, she's not
sure she's cut out for the lifestyle she
longs for. The one bright spot in her future
may be her cousin's roommate, but she not so
sure about him, either.
When she meets her new boss it confirms her
worst fears. Can she really take months of
getting coffee for a boss she can't stand?
Her boss, Yoshi, may be one of the best
hairdressers in L.A., but Sarah isn't sure
she can stick it out long enough to learn
what he has to teach her. Sarah must
struggle to find herself and figure out if
her dreams are worth the cost.
Award-winning author Kristin Billerbeck's
newest novel is a great read from cover to
cover. The story is both funny and serious
and Billerbeck gives readers the perfect
dose of both. I found myself cheering for
Sarah throughout the novel and trying to
decide what I would do if I was in her
shoes. It's an easy read and yet will get
the reader thinking about what's most
important in life.
