15
Minutes For Mom
Here are a
couple recipes for creating your own facial.
Take the time to pamper yourself this
Holiday season.
Mash one-half
banana and add one tablespoon honey and two
tablespoons sour cream. Apply this mixture
to your face and let set for 10 minutes.
Gently wipe off with a damp washcloth.
Grind one
tablespoon almonds into a fine meal in a
food processor or blender. Mix the almond
meal together with one tablespoon honey and
one egg white. Apply this mixture to the
face and let set for 15 minutes. Gently wipe
off with a damp washcloth.

I have a couple of ideas to share.
You
should definitely join some type of
organization. That could be your local
chamber or some kind of local group that
interests you ( reading group, fitness
group, walking group, singles group, and the
list goes on....). You can also join online.
There is the DSWA ( direct selling women's
alliance ) if you are in a direct selling
company.
You can also get involved
with online networking groups. I did not do
this in the beginning of my business,
however, I have started now and it is a lot
of fun to meet other people in home based
businesses. There are online vendor
parties.....just type those words into your
search engine and it will bring up the sites
that offer this.
I just recently purchased a
card caddie ( this is place to keep your
business cards on the outside of your car
without getting damaged by rain etc...). If
you type in your search engine: card caddie,
it will bring you to the "official site" and
I have found that you will get a better deal
finding them on ebay.

Dealing With the Holiday Hoopla!
by
Filoiann
M. Wiedenhoff |
Making Christmas a Time of Remembrance
If you are like me the
holidays can be a blessing but they also can
be stressful, anxiety filled and very busy.
As a CWAHM and Pastor’s Wife, I literally
have to sit and try to remember all the
things I need to do in preparing for family
to come over, cleaning the house, take care
of church business and our plans for
Christmas Eve service, writing the menu for
Christmas dinner, try to finish all my home
business work, in between shopping, shopping
and more shopping.
Sometimes I wish we had
eight arms and hands like an Octopus that
could do multi-tasking simultaneously. Hey
wait a minute….we already do?
We’re wives, moms, worker bees, nurses,
secretaries, accountants, chefs, house
keepers, counselors, disciplinarians, taxi
cab drivers, sometimes bus driver’s and
professional shoppers. Whew! What a list.
So how do we deal with the holiday hoopla
added on top of that oh so crazy list? I
came up with some helpful tips to make
Christmas a time of remembrance:
1. Remember What Matters Most: In
all our busyness we can be taken away from
what really matters. Take a moment to
reflect on your priorities which are Christ
first, family, career etc… Try not to focus
on things that just are not important and
focus on the things that are.
2. Remember That it’s Not About the
Presents: A great way to honor Christ
this Christmas and at the same time teach
your children the true meaning of Christmas
is to share the birth of Jesus story with
them, and then take them to the store and
let them pick out brand new toys to donate
to needy children or families. Make it a
memorable and enjoyable experience and they
will want to do it more often!
3. Remember Those That Are Lonely &
Hurting: Christmas is also one of the
most depressing holidays, for people who
have lost a loved one, are lonely, hurting
or ill. Please look around in your own
sphere of influence and say a prayer, make a
call or take over a meal or small gift to a
friend or family member who needs your love
or comfort and more importantly need God’s
love through you. If you are one that is
hurting this season, please call someone to
pray for you, you are not alone and people
care about you and would love to encourage
and comfort you during this difficult time.
4. Remember the
Soldiers: Let us also remember the
soldiers that have lived and died honorably
for the sake of peace. Please lift them up
and their families for strength, comfort and
peace.
5.
Remember What Jesus Did For You:
Christmas is a time of reflection on the
real reason Christ was born and how His life
as well as His death was a sacrifice for us.
Remember back what your life was like before
you received Him and reflect on how He has
blessed you abundantly since that life
changing day.
By remembering all the blessings Jesus has
done for us and at the same time reaching
out to others, we are commemorating His
birth and honoring His life and allowing
Christ’s Life to live in us and through us.
It is a heritage to be carried on from
generation to generation. May your Christmas
be blessed and stressed free! From our
family to yours!

Yesterday was History, Tomorrow is a
Mystery
but Today is a Gift and that is why they
call it the Present!

This is a terrific recycled ornament. The
snowmen are made from those baby socks that
never really get dirty or wear out. A
kindergartner can do this with help, but in
a group this craft is really better for
older kids.
MATERIALS:
White baby sock
Batting
String
Fabric or ribbon
Colored baby sock (makes two hats)
Glue
Buttons
Permanent markers
Orange pipe cleaner (nose)
Any color pipe cleaner (earmuffs)
2 mini pompons
Time needed: Under 1 Hour
1. Fill the foot of a white baby sock
with batting. Tie shut just above the ankle
with string. Trim off the cuff.
2.
Divide the sock ball into body and head by
tying a strip of fabric or ribbon (the
scarf) around the sock.
3. To make the hat,
gather the colored sock together at the
ankle and tie with string. Leave enough
string for a hanging loop. Cut off the foot.
Roll up the edge of the sock like a stocking
cap. Glue or sew on the hat.
4. Next, glue or sew on buttons. Draw on the
eyes and mouth with markers. Cut a 1-inch
piece of pipe cleaner and poke it in for the
nose. For earmuffs, wrap a piece of pipe
cleaner around the head and tuck the ends
under the hat rim. Glue on pompons.
Tips:
Don't have batting? Use old nylon stockings
or cotton.

Book
I
LOVE to read! Each week you'll find
a new Christian book here! |
Remember to Forget
by Deborah Raney
I wrote a
review of Deborah Raney’s Remember to Forget
for one of my favorite Christian fiction
websites,
The Suspense Zone. I loved the book so
much that I wanted to be sure to share it
with you.
Deborah Raney
tells a story like no one else can.
From the very first page, Remember to
Forget pulls the reader into the life of
Maggie Anderson. Within pages she’s been
carjacked on the streets of New York City
and is left alone in the wee hours of the
morning without even the bottle of Jack
Daniels she been sent to purchase. Her mind
races between the sheer terror of the crime
and the possibility this might afford her.
Maggie decides to leave her life behind in
an attempt to escape the controlling
boyfriend she lives with.
She travels as far as the money in her
pocket will take her and ends up in Clayburn,
Kansas. She has just enough money left to
get a hotel room for one night. After nights
of sleeping on buses, the soft hotel bed and
warm food feel like heaven.
She can tell
the minute she meets the Bart and Wren, the
owners of Wren’s Nest, the hotel where she’s
staying for the time being. Maggie manages
to convince Wren to allow her to stay on in
exchange for helping out at Wren’s Nest
until she can find a proper job and figure
out what she should do next.
She also meets local business owner and
all-around handyman, Trevor Ashlock. As
Trevor gets to know Maggie, he can tell
there’s more to her than meets the eye. He
sets out to find the truth about her and her
past.
I can’t say enough about now impressed I was
with this book. Deborah Raney tells a story
like no one else can. I was emotionally
invested in the main character by the end of
the first page. The characters are deep and
realistic and couldn’t wait to see what
would happen. I truly didn’t want this story
to end.
