Well I did something yesterday that I really shouldn't have, but felt I needed to. I went to look at a condo to buy. :) It was built in '72 and it was small, but figured it wouldn't hurt to look.

It's been on the market for MONTHS, but it just so happened that they had an offer on it yesterday. Well the realtor asked if I wanted to look at another home, a half-plex. Sure, why not?

It's brand new and the builder is motivated to sell it. It's a corner lot and has many upgrades. It's about 1200 square feet and has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It's not huge, I'm not looking for huge. It's comfortable and bright which I am looking for. The backyard is super tiny, but I'm not looking for a big backyard. It has a nice courtyard in the front, finished 2-car garage, and beautiful exterior.

The builder is offering incentives to get rid of the inventory and could be purchased at an amazing price.

However, it will take a miracle from God for me to get this home. I know that with God all things are possible and I would love to have this home. I even thought that it would be cool if someone would like to purchase the home with me - kind of like an angel investor where they could invest $227,000 which would allow me to pay off my bills (so I'd just have the mortgage to pay) and put a considerable amount of money down on the home to keep the payments really low. Then within 5 years I would refinance the home and pay back the investor all the money given + equity built up (in proportion to the investment).

I thought I could go on an all out marketing campaign for my biz's - maybe I could get an awesome amount of referrals and really earn the funds to pay off my bills and have a sizable downpayment.

I thought that maybe I could just beg people. HAA HAAAA Just kidding. ;)

Whatever I do, whatever God does really, would need to be quick and within the next few weeks.

I think of all the things I could do having my own home: practice hospitality and bless others through fellowship and sharing meals together, having the kids I teach at church come over to hang out (the girls would love to have a slumber - all night party!), I could have a real home office (instead of splitting the bedroom in half LOL), we could have Bible study in my home and more. It makes me smile when I think of what I could do for others.

So if you could help me pray about this miracle for my dream of becoming a first time home buyer that would be awesome! This particular half-plex is an incredible opportunity. Regardless, I want God's will for my life. I know that He will give me the desires of my heart if my life is pleasing to Him. I also know that when many prayers go up awesome things happen because the prayer of a righteous man (or woman) is powerful and effective.

Thank you!!

Christina
P.S.
If you have referrals or ideas, let me know. :)

Hi Christina,

My family and I are on a quest to find a new home too. It's very exciting waiting to see just where God will lead you. I will be praying that God will lead you where you need to be and everything will fall into the right place for you.

:D

Hi Christina~

I will be praying for you to have God's will in your life for a new home! I have seen many of your posts on here and you are truly a woman following God. We bought our first home 3 years ago this month and it was very exciting. God is good and He will bless us as we bless Him.

Praying for you!

Thank you so much, Dawn. You are such a blessing and encouragment. I went back to look at the homes yesterday. I walked through a couple and still really like the first one I saw. Last night I pulled in front of the house and just prayed. I know it's all in God's hands and I truly believe if that's the home for me He will make it all work out. If it doesn't work out, I'm okay with that because God knows what's best. :)

I sent an email to my friends and family asking them to pray as well and added info for my businesses and the different ways they can help, with referrals too. I even set up a new travel/shopping savings package on my AwardsIncentivesMotivation site with a rep program. It's just for the one Lifetime savings package (at this time), but I know that God can tremendously bless that as well. It's something I've been working toward for months and figured there's no time like the present to get that going.

Thanks again, Dawn and Michelle. I appreciate your prayers and you taking the time to post. I love it that God can bring us together from around the country and even the world as sisters in Christ. You're all like my extended family and I love ya!

Have a very blessed Easter my friends. :D

I feel the very same way. :) It is a blessing for me to be able to meet other Christians here who love the Lord like I do and make friends. I hope you had a very blessed Easter too!

Keep us updated on how your house hunting is going. I'll continue to pray for you.

Christina,

I will be praying for you!

I can attest to the way God works miracles with buying houses--six years ago I fell in love with an adorable Victorian, a fixer upper, that would mean more room for us as the new parents of our baby boy.

We started the process of selling our house (which it sold in a week!) and buying the new (old) one. Then, my husband lost his job! It looked like there was no way. But our broker was able to get us a no doc loan. So we jumped that hurdle. Then we had some identity mix up on our credit. Once again, we cleared up the mess and the loan finally went through.

In the meantime, our house had sold, so we moved most of our stuff into storage and lived with my parents for a month, who live 45 minutes North of us.

When we finally moved into the house, we enlisted the help of our parents to clean it out (it was a mess!) and move in our stuff, mostly into one bedroom until we could tear out carpets, etc.

Travis got a job late that summer, and looking back it was a huge blessing that he was laid off! He had been commuting 30 miles, his boss was horrible, and if he had been working we would have never been able to get the move accomplished! He even took up bike-riding to ease the stress and it's his passion to this day. In fact, we have one car and one bike, which we try to keep them both running, ha ha!

Now six years later it's easy to forget the miracle story of how we acquired this house. We didn't realize the overwhelming task ahead of us in fixing up this muddled house! I live with unfinished rooms and my son is also very messy. We've accomplished a lot but there's always so much more to do and in the meantime I struggle with having enough space for organizing, etc.

Your story reminds me of all the things I wanted to do in my house--have tea parties for neighbors, friends, praise and worship nights for families, have Sam's friends over, etc. Most times I feel so ashamed of my house and its unfinished state that I don't invite anyone over!

There must be a reason we have this house, beyond my extreme stubborness (our dream to remodel a Victorian house)! Thanks for your story, Christina! It helps me look at my situation in a fresh perspective. I will continue to pray for you and that God gives you great wisdom and you are able to see Him in action! He is a God who owns a thousand cattle on a hill, and as a friend of mine envisions, He has an army of money behind him!

Dana, thank you so much for posting. I had to read it a couple of times because it's just so encouraging.

Ladies, you are truly a blessing and I thank God for each of you. May God truly bless you abundantly for your kindess, thoughtfulness and your friendship.

Christina
