Hi all! I am potentially thinking about homeschooling my 12 year old daughter. She is having some medical problems and has only been to school two days this year. She has missed almost three weeks at this point with more to come.

We know a girl that is home schooled at her middle school but she also attends electives at the school. That might be a good fit for my daughter because then she could still take drama and choir which she loves. :)

My question is - a good online program. Christian preferably. I would prefer to do all the record keeping and schooling online. I did find Time4Learning but it only goes through the 8th grade. I'm concerned about that because she is advanced in math especially and I don't want to "cap out" after the first year. If I do home school I may only do it for 7th grade. But it is possible I will do it thru 8th and maybe high school if she likes it and then just continue taking electives thru public school.

My other concern is that I've heard of some home schoolers say that if they ever went back to regular school they would have to start over where/when they left. Don't want that to happen!! Is that a concern with accredidation? And does anyone know if Time4Learning is accredited? Has anyone heard of that happening?

Thanks in advance for your help and advice! :)
Louise

I homeschool my 12 yr old daughter - she does go to school for band. This is her first year - she didn't want to but really enjoys it now. We don't use any online curriculum but I see several advertised in my "Homeschool Enrichment" you might try their online website and see what resources they have.

I use Teaching Textbooks for math - it's computer based but not online - they teach the lesson - you can listen and then work through everything - you can go back and watch step by step any problem you missed - she was in the gifted program at school and has been able to work her way through this on her own (math is my weakness) so I've liked it so far.
There are several FB groups as well the Homeschool Enrichment and The Old Schoolhouse (another magazine) if you post on their what you are looking for you'll get lots of responses great way to hear pros/cons or learn of new options.
Best of luck to you
