I have a question: OUR sunday school teacher is the Pastor's wife..Ok? so When she occassionally makes a Comment that I Question...I am hesitant to ask her to Clarify it.. I do not want to embarrass her etc....IF I did I would ask her to give me a Scripture or Scriptures....to Verify the information.... but have never done this..

THIS is a question for all of you....SHE said..that unless a church is splitting up...If you are a member of that church..and for whatever reason you Decide to leave and go to another church.....then You are Under Gods curse!!....I was shocked!!....Like we took a vow to Never join another church.??..I did not....I simply stood up one day when the Pastor asked if anyone wanted to join....I did... but I did not vow anything....sign anything..etc...-- Also to give her the benefit of the doubt......I assume she understands that --If you move to another part of the Country - you would at some point join a church..I don't think she is Referring to that reason....I think she means if you are still in your area..and decide to change..etc...HAS anyone or do any of you have scripture that I can look up-- to see why she may have said this? THANKS I really appreciate any answers here..> SUSAN

Why did this come up? Was it part of a Sunday School lesson?

In private, I would ask her to clarify what she said. Be honest and say you didn't really understand and didn't want to take up class time but would she please explain what she meant and show you the Bible verse that supports what she said.

I don't know of any Bible verse that curses you for changing churches.

I would also encourage you to search the scriptures yourself for this answer.

Hi Susan.

I have never heard of that before either, and don't recall any scripture saying where you should go to church. I personally feel, and have been taught in church, that God calls you to be covered by a particular pastor that is going to feed your personal spirit. Everyone does not belong to every church, that's why we have so many. Your spirit feels a connection when you go to the church that you are meant to be in, and if you question anything, Always pray and ask God for clarity. If you can go to church and know the sermon was directed to you, every time, then God is talking to you through the pastor He has put in your life. He has a message for all of us and what is meant for you is what you will hear and get from it every time.

When a person reads the Bible, they sometimes interpret it in their own way. When you read the Bible you should ask God for clarity and understanding, to open your eyes and ears and mind to hear from Him, so that you are not making your own interpretation, as your pastor's wife has Obviously done. But as previously stated, if it is bothering you to know, then I would definitely pull her to the side and ask for an explanation.

First and foremost when attending any church... ask God for guidance as to which church you should go to ... not only for spiritual worship, but also for fellowship. I do not believe that a person would be under a curse from God if they left a certain church. Not every church is a Godly church... check them out before you attend and find out information about the church, what their beliefs are, etc and then fellowship with God if it is the right church for you. Hope this helps. God bless.
