Hey all,

I am still reading in Chronicles. My goal has been to read through 1 chapter at least a night. I know I won't get through the whole Bible in a year. But, am determined I'm going to read it all the way through. :)

How is everyone else doing?

Hey Michelle!

Ya beat me to the post. I was going to check in to see how everyone was doing as well. :P

I'm just starting I Chronicles. I tell you what, reading about the wayward kings who just couldn't get it right sure makes me want to live right. Most of Israel's and Judah's kings never seemed to get rid of all the idol and pagan worship stuff. I kept thinking, "Okay, now this king will get rid of it all!" Nope. He didn't.

I guess they gave us a good example of what not to do. God doesn't want us to hold onto any sin because it always comes back to bite ya. Besides, He wants us to be holy.

Hi Heidi and welcome!!

We're all in different places because we started at different times so that's a-okay.

I am determined to read the Bible through this year and I didn't start until February (I believe). It's been great re-reading stories and learning new things.

It is amazing to me that you can read the same passage a hundred times during our life and it can speak to you differently each time. The Word of God truly is the "Living" Word. I love it. :P

Christina

Hi Heidi,

We would love to have you join the group! I am reading through the whole Bible for the first time myself. I read through the New Testament and am in I Chronicles now in the Old Testament. I've loved reading God's word and think it's amazing how God gives us the answers to everything we need in the Bible. :)

He sure does, Michelle! People who rely on someone else to learn from and never read the Bible for themselves are missing so much. I mean, the Bible truly is a love letter from the Lord. It's THE ULTIMATE survival book and encouragement. Yes, there are warnings and commands, but there are also amazing blessings! It's just like parents with their children. The children need guidance and discipline so that they can reach their full potential and fulfill their purpose in life.

Wow, you've already read through the NT? I didn't know that. I feel so behind!

That is very true Christina. I also believe that the same Scripture can mean different things to people as it can be interpreted differently. I think God allows us to see what He wants us to see when reading His Word.

I'm STILL working on I Chronicles but have only a couple of chapters to go before beginning on II Chronicles. The chapters with all the descendent's names really slows me down.

My goal is to constantly be reading the Bible. Once I read through it I plan to start over. I know I definitely need that daily dose of God's Word. :D

I'm starting Job this weekend. I am loving that I'm reading through the Bible. It's been wonderful.

Michelle, we all need a daily dose of the Word. It increases our faith and reinforces how much the Lord really loves us. That is what has really been hitting me hard. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed by how much He loves me.

In fact, I wrote a post on my blog about it here: http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea ... 7317360e0b

Thank you, Michelle!

I hope that it is a blessing and testimony for many others.

A funny little story...

Since I've been on MySpace there have been a couple of men messaging me for a "date" so to speak. I politely tell them that I am not on MySpace for that. Two kept bugging me and one I just stopped trying to explain myself and just ignored him. He has gone away now. The other one didn't get the hint so I told him, "Take a look at this post on my blog to read about my Love" and I sent him the link to that post.

Guess what? I haven't heard from him since!
